SWITZERLAND HIS LAND
This episode comes from an entire country to his « wunderkind ». Indeed, Roger proudly defends the colors of his Swiss flag, as his emotions may suggest it at his Davis cup victories.
This episode will focus on the major part Switzerland played in Federer’s career. Moreover, a great champion needs to be surrounded by a stable and grateful environment not only to give a good performance but also to have a long lasting career. To show all the love his country shares for him, we will orchestrate a huge ‘happening’ at the bottom of a Swiss mountain. The name of the ‘happening’ will be « Big Picture » and it will gather a mass of Swiss citizens and Helvetic champions. The happening will be directed by Denis Maillefer - director of the Comédie de Genève and author of « In love with Federer » - and supported by the FC Bâle football team, which Roger loves and supports !

EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
Rafael Nadal’s voiceover exposes the theme of the episode: Federer’s « intern fortress », his country. Switzerland stands as a state of peace and calm for Roger as it is both his homeland and safe place where he can come to regenerate after long competition periods of time.
Martina Hingis and Marc Rosset – one of Roger’s best friends – turn into touristic guides to help the audience discover the intimate bond that links Roger to his country. They take us to Grône, a small village in the Valais region. A place that holds a special place in Roger’s heart. Indeed, he promised to come and participate to the tennis tournament that was held for the 25th anniversary of the Club although he had just won his first Grand Chelem tournament in 2003.
We discover intimate images of his training center located in Bienne and Ecublens but also his chalets in Lenzerheide which he bought to enjoy the Swiss mountains and rest.
Wawrinka and Marco Chiudinelli – former player in the Swiss team and best friend of Rogers – confess the emotion they all felt during the 2014 finale of the Davis Cup that was won by the Swiss team.
We will also portray the fidelity of Roger’s Swiss sponsors: Lindt, Rolex, Crédit Suisse. They have always stood as real partners although his career.
The visit ends by a massive surprise on a mountain hill in Gstaad. Indeed, a giant landscape postcard will be created by a huge amount of « fan4Roger » fan club, « Fussball Basel Club » players, a swiss fanfare, skiers, bikers. All the participants will be directed by choreographer Heinz Spoerli in order to create a giant inscription saying : DANKE ROGER. Above these words will be floating a piece of art by Urs Fischer symbolizing the Helvetic flag.
